Are you ready to challenge yourself, learn new skills, and be part of something bigger? Fire Cadets gives young people the opportunity to get hands-on with real fire service activities, build confidence, and make new friends in a fun and supportive environment

  • Aged 13-17 years old
  • Able to attend weekly sessions
  • Willingness to learn new skills and be part of a team
  • Take part in both physical and theory based activities
  • Attend Community events

  1. Complete the online application form
  2. Paper shift of applications
  3. Attend an assessment centre
    • Interview
    • Team activities
    • Practical tasks
  4. Notification of outcome
  5. Successful applicants to accept offer of place
  6. Receive and return induction forms
  7. Attend an online induction meeting
  8. Start at unit

  • Attend weekly sessions during term time at your allocated unit
    • North – Thursday’s – 18:00 – 21:00
    • West – Tuesday’s – 18:00 – 21:00
  • Monthly subscription of £12
  • Uniform provided except for footwear
  • Attend six Community events per year

  • Hands on Fire Service experience
  • Develop new skills and gain awards
  • Increased confidence, resilience and teamwork
